Description Of Issue
Using Roon at the same time as playing League of legends causes frame rate drops. As soon as music is paused frame rate returns to normal. I have 1080ti i9 9900k at 5ghz 32gb ram, no idea why its doing it. I would love to be able to listen to music while gaming but the frame rate drop is causing a huge problem.
If you are running the Roon control on your gaming pc it will consume gpu time. Roon ui uses opengl and runs more like a game engine than a traditional desktop app.
As mentioned above, there are a couple factors that could be playing into this.
Roon is build using technology similar to a game engine. This means your GPU is being used more than it might with other apps not using this technology, and using your GPU for both apps at the same time might be causing issues.
Your Roon Core is going to use more resources than just a remote. If possible, you might want to try running your Core on a different machine and using the PC just as a remote so that more resources are available for gaming.
