It’s official: 2026.09 is the first release under the new name, Verox, and it’s now available on the Stable channel.
For those of you running RoPieee with Roon, here’s what matters:
You don’t have to do anything. Your device updates itself as usual, and your zones, settings and Roon setup stay exactly as they are.
Nothing to re-pair in Roon. The extension keeps working as before. For now it still shows up as “RoPieee Remote Control” in Roon’s Extensions list. That’s deliberate, so nobody has to set it up again.
Roon support isn’t going anywhere. Roon is still what I listen with every day, and the way I help out here doesn’t change.
Beyond the name, there’s a new Spotify engine that works properly with Convenience Switching (so handing over between Roon and Spotify just works), a switch to turn Roon Bridge off for those who don’t need it, more breathing room on the 512MB boards, and a web interface that’s a lot nicer on your phone.
Verox also has its own community now, at community.verox.audio. It’s mainly meant for the people running Verox without Roon, who never really had a place to go here. Roon users are more than welcome there too, but I’ll keep answering questions in this thread as always.
A big thank you to everyone who tried the betas and sent feedback. It made a real difference.
@spockfish , please add a migration path from beta to stable - BETA 's 2026.09 (4077) to STABLE 's 2026.09 (4095) ; i see only verox_pi4 test images advertised in /data/rauc/manifest.json.
Thanks, Harry. The new interface looks great. Looking forward to using Verox for many years, just as I’ve used Ropieee for many years. It makes life with Roon so much better.
