Volume Control with the Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital

Apologies if this has been asked before, I’ve been through a few threads…

If I use Roon to control the volume of the Pre Box S2, does that negate any MQA decoding? I’ve tried all sorts of settings and unless the volume is “Fixed” or pegged to 100, the MQA (or MQB) indicator does not illuminate.

I’ve got an AudioQuest Firefly Cobalt and Roon does seem to be able to control its volume and retain MQA.
