Volume disbalance between left and right channel

I think this is irrelevant. You would hear the imbalance even with a mono source (provided that the mono track was presented to both channels).

I will go fiddling around with the speakers. On the same spot I had SF Electa Amator monitors and Martin Logan Vantage. They played without issues.

Fact is that playing with the native Dā€™Agostino app the imaging appears to be better.
Or am I hearing things that arenā€™t there? Guess this question canā€™t be answered on this forumšŸ˜‰

I have to agree that this issue is in the analogue domain. However, if that is the case, I find it hard to believe your statements that the issue does not happen when:

  • Using the turntable direct into the amp
  • Streaming without using Roon.

You say you have already swapped the speakers left to right (but retained their positioning) and the problem remained with an imbalance to the left (-3dB on the left fixed it).

You also say that the issue was seen with a previous amplifier. That eliminates the possibility of the amplifier being the cause - it is highly unlikely that you received two amplifiers from different manufacturers with the same fault.

This only leaves speaker position and room acoustics as the cause as @wklie has said. But again, if that was the case, you would hear the same misplaced soundstage no matter which source - Roon, other streaming/digital or analogue, was used.

Not the only guide but IMHO an approach that works in asymmetrical setups

Thanks everyone for thinking. Started placing the speakers from scratch using the link @Suedkiez provided. I toe-in the left speaker much more as the right one. Itā€™s much better now aldo itā€™s not perfect. My dealer will come and do some measurements.

Its definitey room and speaker placement in rergards to furniture and walls. My room suffers very similar affects very quickly if not positioned correclty or even the door to room is left open.
