Description of Issue
I am encountering an issue with the Roon Server on my QNAP NAS. The Windows 10 Roon application and the Roon app on iOS (iPhone 11) cannot connect to the server. The error message consistently states: “Waiting for your Roon Server.”
After a fresh reboot of the QNAP NAS, the communication with the Roon server works temporarily. However, the problem persists after initiating a volume decryption operation on the QNAP NAS. This behavior is recent and was not observed in the last five years.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
Rebooted QNAP NAS, which temporarily resolved the issue.
Observed the problem reoccurring after starting a volume decryption operation.
I kindly request assistance in resolving this issue and guidance on preventing its recurrence. The previous five years have been trouble-free, and this recent behavior is causing inconvenience. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
Please update your Roon Server and Remotes to the latest builds as there have been a number of connectivity fixes in the months since your devices were last updated. As of today the current builds are 1357 for Server, Remote, and iOS apps.
For more information on updating your devices please refer to the document below:
I corrected the copy paste error in the header.
Updates performed today to the newest versions available:
-Roon Core to v2.0 (build 1357) production
-Roon Remote Win10 client updated to 200001357
-iOS app updated to v2.0.01357
Try deleting your database and see if Roon runs with a fresh copy?
Then you could try and restore one of your latest backups (which i assume you have, stored away from the QNAP device) and see if this has any bearing on your issues?
