Description of Issue

Hello. My external Western Digital 2TB Passport drive, that I use for storage, keeps disappearing from Roon.

I was able to access it for many months before this started to happen. When I first noticed it, I used check disk on the drive. It found no errors. I connected it to my Intel ROCK NUC and all was well.

However, it periodically disappears. A few times I was able to disconnect and reconnect it to get it to work, but lately, even that doesn’t work. What the heck?

It’s happened to me a couple of times with same equipment and I do a full disk check on the windows pc which seems to clear it up

Yeah, I just did that and it’s ok now. I’d like to not have to do that. BTW, there were no errors found.

Same here. Out of interest – did you do a quick check? [I did one that took 5 hours]

If you Core a Windows Machine or a ROCK NUC? If a Rock NUC, the drive should be formatted exFAT. If it is NTFS then it will potentially run into issues.

I used CHKDSK /F

I’ll look into that. Its probably NTFS.

I’ve run into the issue with a WD Passport formatted in exfat that I use to back up the data base of my nucleus plus
