I believe you can configure Caffeine (or its alternatives like Amphetamine) to prevent the sleep but still turn off the screen

I’ve used an old chromecast, a new chromecast with google tv, currently an nvidia shield, and also browsers on a couple of older tablets. I’ve fantasized about mounting one of the tablets on the wall, and I’ve also used a chromecast attached to a no-longer-in-use PC monitor that I put somewhere practical.
In the end I’ve given up all of these for the fact that roon display is so utterly limited in displaying anything but whatever random image roon has dedicated to an artist. I dream of jellyfin or kodi type cycling fanart from an artist folder.
And, respectfully, I consider running the wattage of a big screen TV to display the very limited information of a roon display quite unnecessary given the challenges facing the environment.
I have a Samsung but the app to display my roon now playing is on my Apple tv called tv:remote. It lets you control roon and also displays now playing. The audio can be directed to any roon device

I use an external Chromecast Ultra device .
My LG tv does have Chromecast built in , but i decided to use the external device which works very well.
does the Chromecast Ultra need USB power ?
i have it plugged into the mains/tv hdmi socket.
i like the Roon tv display for its Lyrics feauture.

Finally, I just entered the Roon display address into the TV’s browser, bookmarked it, and everything works perfectly.

did the same thing - entered the address into the LG CX TV browser and all works well - thanks for the advice - saved me buying a Chromecast or a new TV
The Chromecast Ultra is powered from the Chromecast power adapter.
