As part of my reconsideration of the importance of headphone amps, I’m comparing several options: the Benchmark stack, the THX AAA 789 fed by the Meridian, 789 fed by the Hugo 2, and Hugo 2 by itself. But the comparison isn’t going well, it sounds so great I keep getting distracted by the music. Like this old favorite:
