Since 2010, the Russian conductor Dmitri Kitajenko at the helm of the Gürzenich Orchestra from Cologne have released a well-received cycle of Tchaikovsky symphonies on Oehms Classics. These recordings in 2015 were collected on a 8-CD box set. Only two weeks ago, this album was released as a complement to this cycle… It’s all very well-known and popular music, well played and beautifully recorded. Even if there is no standout feature, the album can be warmly recommended… I enjoy this as great background and sing-along music…
Moved over from August listening as I did, indeed, listen to it in September!
Attractive sounding album from a band based in Melbourne, Australia. It was album of the day on Bandcamp yesterday, but is also available on Qobuz.
Mind Bomb is a great album.
What writes the anonymous reviewer from Allmusic? “This Harmonia Mundi CD is a feast for the ears, as well as a lesson in bringing history to life”. Just so…
