Which HQP Filter are you using? [2023]

Give it a try. Should be descriptions in the user manual.

Nooo I only bought 4 two weeks ago :man_facepalming::flushed:

I don’t think you need to worry at all. :smirk:

Just upload your key on the upgrade form…

Thanks Jussi
I wasn’t really that worried as I got what I purchased and been really happy with it.

I will do that over the weekend.

There are couple of discount tiers depending on age of the license. Either a coupon code or just new license key if the v4 license is fresh enough. (if the form doesn’t say anything, check your Downloads folder)

I see it now, thanks!

How does the USB Dongle license work now? I think you just use the fingerprint of the USB key when buying the upgrade license, I’m guessing?

Thanks Jussi new license downloaded and very painless.
Great work, now to find time to test out V5 :grinning:

Yes, it should work. The key generator supports it.

I also have mine set to -4dB as I would get clipping on some tracks at -3dB. (Rarely but it would happen) At least I did when I was on Tidal, never bothered to experiment when I switched to Qobuz. @jussi_laako says -3dB should be sufficient for most tracks but there’s nothing wrong with a little more headroom. Hasn’t clipped once since adding the extra 1dB attenuation

Really dig’n the new sinc-MGa filter! I’m running it at 768kHz PCM w/ LNS15 on the Chord Qutest with a SRC-DX. First impression is it sounds like the love child of sinc-M and poly-sinc-gauss (are you breeding filters in the back room of your lab? :rofl:). Just first impression, but hearing the tonality of sinc-M with the spacial presentation of poly-sinc-gauss.

More listening to do! So much for a productive work day today…

[edit] damn @jussi_laako! sinc-MGa is the first filter I’ve used that has so thoroughly sucked me in that I don’t even want to A/B compare it. I just want to listen to it! Job well done!

[edit2] after listening for the last 2hrs, I’m convinced sinc-MGa by itself is worth the cost of upgrading. Maybe it’s just the synergy with my setup, but so far no complaints. It takes all of my test tracks that I usually find something to complain about and plays them beautifully. I keep getting caught up in the music and forgetting about other things I need to be doing. And the playback is super quick. Maybe that’s another version 5 upgrade, but nice to not wait long for a big sinc filter to load.

Hi Jussi,
Any idea how V5 upgrade will work with embedded versions, specifically Small Green Computer Sonic Transporter models?

@agillis
Anyone know?
@jussi_laako
Do I need a new key?

New ASDM7EC-light plays nicely with M1 Mini at DSD512 rates (and sounds incredible). I was using AMSDM7EC 512 + fs to achieve DSD512 rates on HQP4. This is a significant improvement with better clarity, image separation and slam. Great Job @jussi_laako!

That’s great news thanks.
I have tried the same options in the past so I will be excited to try that option
