I have updated Roon (running Win 10 installation on a PC with 10700 CPU and 32GB RAM) to the latest build 1353 and now Roon doesn’t start.
All I see after the update is a “white screen of death” with Roon logo. Left the PC running overnight but to no avail.
Roon was running great before the update - no problems at all.

@Elberoth , have you started Roon Server, which is now separate from the Roon GUI you use to manage Roon?
What’s new in this release?
Hello everyone,
We are excited to begin rolling out a significant software optimization on Windows and macOS! This update will be made available to all users over the next week so please read on for all the details.
Roon software optimization delivers the best Windows/Mac experience.
Our team is always working to improve Roon. Alongside new features and functionality, there’s a continual stream of work aimed at advancing the performance of Roon regardless of platfor…
You also may need to create new firewall rules in W10 for roon.exe, raatserver.exe, and roonappliance.exe.

I’m clicking on the very same Roon icon on my desktop I have been using for years…
I have the full Roon with GUI on my PC.

With Build 1353, there should also be a new application. Roon Server (RoonServer.exe), that needs to be running. The Roon.exe is only the GUI now. Do you see a Roon Server in your Applications list? If so, click it, but you wont see anything happen; The GUI will then connect to as the Server runs in the background.

I have the following folders:
and files in the Roon folder:
Both Roon and RAATSever seem to be running, but show zero activity:

I don’t believe you have started Roon Server as I don’t see it in your Task Manager list. See mine below which has RAATServer, RoonAppliance, and RoonServer all running on my Server PC without the GUI active:
Roon.exe is the GUI front-end, not the Server. Can you please re-confirm you have double-clicked or otherwise started RoonServer?

Thanks. I went into Roon server catalog and started if from there.
I was under impression, you don’t have to start Roon Server anymore separately as Roon merged both Server and Roon GUI.

Actually just the opposite. They separated it so it is easier to run headless and manage the GUI portion as needed on the Roon Server computer.
Glad you are running again, enjoy the music!
