Description of the issue

I just did a search for “Gentle Giant” and the second result is Don Williams. I do not have any Don Williams in my library. How do I prevent erroneous results appearing in my library?

Because the search is not restricted to your library, and quite rightly so.

If you want to search your library, use the Filter search box on pages under MY LIBRARY.

This is a matter of opinion, which I do not share. Seems easy enough that I could toggle “limit seach to library”.

No, it is a fact. “…quite rightly so” is an opinion, granted, but how on earth would you find something outside your library if it was restricted? The tools are already there to locate items in and outside your library.

And, you can restrict to your library. Simply type “Gentle Giant” in the search bar, and hit enter. Then, filter the results with the library icon.

There is such a switch on the search results page.

Don Williams’s nick name is „The Gentle Giant“, so it’s not erroneous and IMHO quite cool that Roon makes the connection. (Users asked over and over that Roon search should be less literal).

Donald Ray Williams (May 27, 1939[1] – September 8, 2017)[2] was an American country music singer, songwriter, and 2010 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He began his solo career in 1971, singing popular ballads and amassing seventeen number one country hits. His straightforward yet smooth bass-baritone voice, soft tones, and imposing build earned him the nickname “The Gentle Giant”.

Sorry, I am unable to find that.

I don’t have that…

Hang on - do you only have local files; you don’t have a streaming service (e.g. Qobuz or Tidal) integrated into Roon?

If so, then you won’t get that icon - because search is only looking in your local files.

And “Don Williams” is a valid result for a search for “Gentle Giant” as @Suedkiez pointed out.

… and the Library icon is displayed on the search results page, as previously mentioned. So, hit return after typing the search query.

Selwxting local only.

I nearly wrote the same, but then I noticed that the posted screenshot is a gallery of two screenshots, and the second is the All Results page, but without the library button:

Ah, I hadn’t noticed it was a gallery. Anyway, it could help someone in future. Good point about Don Williams – even I learned something.

Yet the OP says …

Moreover, …

This refers to the release not the entire library. So, it was not clear cut that the library was local only.

Hmm. Perhaps you should read carefully before criticising those who routinely offer help.

The first screenshot is when I type the search term “Gentle Giant” in the seach icon. The second screenshot is when I hit “see all results”

I have only local library.

I do not have any Don Williams in my library.
