An excellent next step here! I’d suggest having a hardwire connection in a more terminated sense if you’re able to get that setup.
With that, I can also see from your account page that your Roon devices are on an outdated version - I’d also see if you can update both your Nucleus as well as any of your Roon remotes, and let me know how that goes.
You should be able to see the device under ‘Roon Ready’ if all goes well.
I connected an ethernet cable with no change. The WiiM app does show that this device is using the Ethernet connection now as the input. I also reinstalled the latest Roon App for Windows as admin. When goto the about section and Roon Server is shows that an update is available but whether I have it set to auto update or take it off auto and manually click the update buttom it generates the following message, “There was an error checking for an update”. It looks like it starts to download something then fails with that message.
I also reached out to WiiM and received the following message back, "
Hi Robert Bolender,
Thank you for reaching out to us, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
The WiiM Amp Pro has been certified as Roon Ready, and we expect it to be fully supported by next week.
I managed to update the Roon Server software to the latest version by using the DNS director function in my Asus AX-11000 router and setting the global redirect to Googles 8.8.8.8 DNS server. I’m wondering why the DNS server should be such a big deal to the Nucleus One in order to update as many people run behind proxies, VPNs, etc but ultimately that was eliminated and seems to have fixed the upgrade issue though the WiiM Amp Pro still isn’t showing up. I’ll report back next week since WiiM said full support for being Roon Ready is coming then.
I reached out again asking if there was a specific day/date and received the following, seems like the ball’s in Roon’s court?, "Hi Robert
We’ll be releasing firmware with Roon Ready support this week and are currently awaiting access approval from Roon for the Roon Ready feature!
We’re not able to comment on timelines regarding partner products, but certainly, let us know if your situation changes after you receive the firmware update!
