Would one's internet source affect sound quality?

I recently left Bell Wireless in Canada for StarLink and I am very pleased with StarLink so far! What a great service for rural citizens

I have a Roon Nucleus+, a PS Audio DAC, an inexpensive D-Link network switch, and the StarLink modem/router.

My question is with satellite would that service affect sound quality?

Playback is steady with no dropouts. I had this psychological worry that because StarLink is a low orbit satellite service that it may affect sound quality.

I realize that it’s all bits and bytes but I wanted to hear from those in-the-know if internet service will higher latency will affect sound quality? I honestly thought I heard a degradation of sound quality… but I could be wrong. LOL.

Well….A degradation in digital sound quality is not manifest as a muffled sound, or less open sound or bad treble or bass… It is glitchy, skippy, noisy sound. If you’re not getting that, then your connection is (most likely) not having a deleterious effect.

Thanks folks! Sometimes you hear things that aren’t there. Lol. If you knew me that would be a moot point

Roon On!
