The Innuos ZenMini Mk3 doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for running Roon server, so it might be causing the problems with performance. Please tell us how many albums you have in your library and where the media files are kept. Likewise, is the software running on a solid-state drive?
Regarding the erratic clicks and pops, I’d suggest starting with an alternative USB cable to eliminate this as the cause.
We don’t officially support the Mini Mk3 as a Roon Core, but many users on this forum have found it satisfactory. For Roon-on-Innuos questions, the best place would be to start a post in Tinkering or Roon Software Discussion, where user experts on that platform can weigh in.
Keep an eye on the processing speed listed in the signal path when using DSP. 1x means the core is processing in real time - you’ll need to retain a 1.0 value or above to avoid dropouts when playing higher-resolution files.
