1.8 - what is the thing you most hope for?

Audirvana sounds better but it’s interface is a little buggy… Soon Roon would sound as good as Audirvana or the other way round Audirvana would be less buggy… Time will tell…
I use and enjoy both… With a flick of a stwitch…

Just because someone said it on the internet doesn’t make it true. For normal (unmodified, eg no dsp/upsampling etc) this isn’t possible, bit perfect is what it says on the tin, opinion doesn’t come into it.

Let us not derail another thread with hearsay.

I tried it a while back when I had a running Mac and wasn’t particularly struck by it. These days I don’t have single Windows or Mac box that could do the job, just a creaking 10 YO laptop. If there was Linux version it’d be a possibility at least.

I’d like an old fashioned loudness button to compensate for low volume listening. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well you and I both talked about it on the Internet as well… 40 years working on a studio mixing desk me and my buddies know what we are talking about.
Let’s leave it there…

What if one could continue using Roon on the move? Lemme explain : instead of being limited to the core wifi network connectivity to stream to a device, what if I could continue streaming through 4G/5G ?

I would hope you wouldn’t use my statement as certification of truth either. There’s a reason that appeal to authority is a logical fallacy.

Dealing in facts, rather than opinions makes life a lot simpler.

I already have it but it has some limitations

On the volume slider, to be able to click on the slider and the volume to move to that point, rather than clicking on the current setting and dragging it left and right.

Perhaps ours could go to eleven?

I don’t need that as my Meridian DSP SE system has its own loudness setting and sounds the same at any volume. I think your Amp is the place for loudness controls

Have you listened to the Podcast with ROON guys that was posted recently. Lots 0f clues there…

Hi @chris_jones1 and welcome to the forum. I’m not sure that reply was directed at me though

How about a new fashioned version? An implementation of something like this that could be applied at the DSP stage would work nicely. Neat feature idea.

Still hoping for a fader when closing off…

Hello, I hope the ffmpeg problem with Qnap Nas will be solved and I don’t need workarounds or need help from the community.

I don’t think Roon sound quality is inferior, but IMO it could be a little better. I have a couple of other players I use, and to me, they do sound a bit better. Roon has some great qualities…just looking for them to focus on that aspect of program performance.

Maybe the performance is tied to system dependence and synergy. I don’t have a deep enough understanding of the “HOW” RAAT works to know that.

Which DAC(s) /players do you use?

I know it’s kind of sacrilege in these parts, but

Podcasts

While the high res functionality is fantastic in my main listening room, I mainly use it to distribute audio throughout the house with Airports. Way cheaper than Sonos. We’ve got radio in there anyway, so why no podcasts?
