Multiple users have seen issues where when 2 or more Naim devices are in the same Roon multi-room group, the sound synchronization between the devices drifts over time. See this thread in the Roon forums for more details.
All reports, so far, have the Muso 2 as part of the setup, so that may be the root cause.
This problem is RAAT specific as two of the 3 reports (as of 1/6/2025) indicate that using the Focal/Naim multi-room functionality does not have this issue.
Thanks Bjorn for raising. I’d hope someone from Roon takes ownership to zoom in and get sorted. As end-user it’s frustrating if you invest in Roon Ready equipment which then disappears when either of the parties update their software and leaves us empty handed…
TL;DR, this appears to be a Naim, not a Roon issue. More troubleshooting has happened by the community since I posted this. It appears to be isolated to specific Naim gear. The MuSo2 does not appear to be the culprit. Instead, the current hypothesis is that the high-end Naim streamers are the root cause. There was a recent update to those pushed out which may be the issue.
Oh, but I have the issue with MuSo2 + MuSo2 QB and Roon, which worked fine in past, but not since end of last year somewhere Oct-Dec started. So this would not align with current hypothesis I guess…
Thanks for sharing. If you haven’t already, could you report to Naim please via support@naimaudio.com. They claimed no one else had reported the issue in my last exchange with them!
Hi, Naim are saying this is a roon issue and they would have had more complaints if it were Naim. As the issue only occurs with multiple Naims via RAAT, let’s turn it around:
