Android, Sony Xperia 5 - Roon app crashes when accessing particular songs

Raspberry clients (Ropieee) via cable and phone (Android, Sony Xperia 5) via Wifi

Description Of Issue
My phone Roon Remote app crashes when accessing particular songs in my collection. I use a drop folder for mixes I do (for checks in the living room) and it always worked perfectly. The problem is occurring since the last Roon client update, and only on my phone. Via the Raspberries and a Windows client there is no problem. The files are 24/44 FLACs, and are tagged properly.

I have tried installing the remote app and installing it again, and I have removed the Roon cache on my QNAP to see whether it could solve the problem. Here’s part of the log:

I’ll tag @support to follow up with you (there have been a few reports of problems with Android devices).

Since experiencing this issue have you tried rebooting your Xperia?

I’ve also enabled diagnostics on your account so we can take a look — The next time your remote connects to the Core a report will be sent to us so the team can take a look.

Just rebooted and tried again. Roon Remote crashed again so you should see something.

Hi Dylan…did some testing. It’s crashing when the cover art is missing. When I drop a random jpg in the folder it seems to work.

Diagnostics have been enabled and the team is looking into this. I’ll be sure to follow up as soon as we have more information.

The workaround (keeping a jpg in the folder as album art) is working, so it’s not likely it will occur again soon at my end.
