Another +1 for podcast support. Could it be implemented via an external service like TuneIn? Surely it would be easy to keep podcasts in a separate tab so it won’t interfere at all with the music sections? And anyone who doesn’t want it just doesn’t activate the external service?

i managed to make multiroom roon a thing and integrated podcasting would be hughe compared to having a folder where you manually have to drag podcast files into :confused:

I’m quite a Roon Newbie (on the last days in trial, but already running a ROCK). I too would love the ability to control podcasts via the Roon App. I use PocketCasts which already has a Sonos integration and also has a decent WebUI - pointing to a good API that Roon could develop against. (Forgot to add that PocketCasts is an RSS aggregator - so no proprietary technology. It just would be nice to have a way to import my podcast “collection” to Roon)

What’s the problem of using a dedicated, competent podcast app for podcasts and roon for music? Podcasts and music are not the same, you don’t listen, sort or select them the same way, and you don’t need the same infrastructure around it.

I just don’t get why anyone would want to clutter Roon with podcasts.

I not only want podcast support but bookmarking for audio books.

I’ve dropped some change on hardware and software. I have no idea why anyone would want to license and maintain multiple audio apps.

Because they do different jobs that require specialisation. Give three experts tasks in their own field and you will have three expert results. Give one expert three tasks in different fields, one that’s their own and two that they kinda know, and you will have three poor results.
