And the app is actually is running your Roon server headless …
I think several of us have made various requests where this limitation shows up.
Do you have any discussion with Roon about this, and is there hope for Roon expanding the API library (or whatever the correct term is) ?
hahaha, yes that is why I asked for an option to only show the Coverart in Nowplaying.
So many other streaming services do this, so why Roon has chosen nor to give us this well tried and proven concept as an option, is beyond me. So now I am hoping, we can get this with this apple TV app. Let’s hope @R_102 also feels our pain.

This is phenomenal!! I had a problem that made it not work originally but then Russell helped me figure it out.
Just to confirm, only the Album and Artist tabs have images? (Explore and Playlists do not)
As a tip to anyone else who might have my fairly unique situation. I use Sonos in a home theater config (Sound Bar, Amp for ceiling speakers, and Sub). The Sonos auto detects the TV in a pretty good way between audio from Roon and TV input (which for me comes from a HDMI switcher between Tivo, AppleTV, and a Chromecast, its a physical 3-1 switcher device). WIth Roon audio on, and using this extension, Sonos kept switching to AppleTV audio which is not what i wanted. The trigger was the audio from the UI controls. I turned those off in the ATV settings and now Sonos stays locked on the Roon audio while the AppleTV app controls Roon. Beautiful!!

Two things on Playlists.

In Roon, I can select Shared Playlists. For some reason all of my Roon playlists are Shared. So they are NOT showing up in the Apple TV app. Can your app request all? I see my Tidal playlists but not my Roon playlists.

You have a button “Start Radio”, as much as we would all like to start the radio on a playlist, it is not a current Roon function. So maybe that should not be an option.

Pretty much, if there’s an image available I’ll show it. There’s the odd Genre image shown when browsing TIDAL for example, but its mostly just Album / Artist images.
To confirm - you’re not seeing any local playlist when selecting the Playlist button at the side of the browser? There’s the option to switch profiles within Browse > Settings. Im not sure if that will help - i can only really request playlist at the basic level.
The button comes straight from Roon - each navigation setup returns a list of items from Roon. Im basically just showing whats returned!

What’s the App called?
Downloaded last night and it works brilliantly, a great addition to Roon.
Maybe a stupid question but is there any possibility of having artist bio’s and reviews added?
I am also missing a lot of artist images more than on the core.

Hopefully if Roon Staff see the interest in this thread they’ll add more functionality to the API Russel has done a great job building a great app that does the community proud. The TV Remote is such a great tool because I don’t want my Mac mini Core anywhere near the TV, plus I don’t want a keyboard or mouse there either. The remote app is brilliant and was lacking from the in-house Roon ecosystem. Roon, unlock more functionality for Russell!

If you select one of the artists that has no image do you then see an artist image on the next screen?
