With this last Wonderfull update, will this allow the Roon Team to make Arc offline mode work amazingly? I’d love to be able to:
Download music and play in offline mode without any issue (artwork showing up, downloads showing up, ability to add tags/playlists without any issue)
Basically make it like our old iPods - but sure, once a month or so needing to connect to the server
Give us the ability to download to a micro disk on a DAP - its why I bough my FIIO.
and if someone can put this in the software section - I don’t know how to select where this should show up
I moved it to Feedback if that’s OK, for Roon Labs to see?
Normally if you start a new topic, you should see this menu (highlighted in below screenshot) to choose the category. Is this not being displayed for you?
There was recently some confusion because this didn’t show up for everyone, but this is supposed to be fixed now:
The screenshots below are my phone offline (no wifi, no cellular) with music downloaded to ARC prior to going offline. Your ARC experience is not similar?

I’ll have to play with it more. I really only need offline mode when travelling, and often the experience is not great (many missing album covers, and sometimes albums that I had downloaded were not showing up).
I also use tags to add song ratings like in iTunes. This helps me build playlists. In offline mode, adding tags is a horrible experience. It works for the first 10 songs or so but then it gets very slow and laggy. Haven’t played with it since this new update.
The known issue didn’t seem to depend on the browser, it was a thing with forum settings that had the side effect of hiding this menu from users with forum “member” level and below, which is however the majority of people (“member” are those who have been here longer but don’t have an unhealthy, obsessive relationship with the forum 
and so clearly should have this option).
There is a known issue where most album covers disappear or are reduced to low quality thumbnails as soon as you go offline or soon after. Might not happen to everyone but has plagued some for years:
And old downloads become unplayable in ARC offline until you load them once while online:

I can confirm, no improvement (which I didn’t really expect) on offline mode. Still does the same thing (missing artwork, artwork shrinks, not a clean, smooth user experience). Fingers crossed, one day Roon will fix this.
