@garym that’s all great to hear but for those of us who gave up on Squeezeboxes, Wiim has been a fantastic replacement. I have fond memories though of my squeezebox days. An excellent product.
I have and use both products. My Sonic Boom and my Squeezebox 3 still work; in fact I was listening to the 3 this afternoon. It feeds an NAD 3020 paired with Totem Arros in my dining room / Reading Nook. The Wiim Pro feeds a NAD Viso 1 in my workbench area that I am now current listening to as I work on refurbishing a NUC.
Yes, the Wiim products seem to be excellent from all I’ve heard from users.
It also handles boxsets better as you can use grouping and discsubtitle metadata to show what albums they are and display any album with bonus materials and main album as separate groups rather than be a mix of it all. Also allow different artwork per disc to be displayed if wanted.
Not exactly a Squeezebox user anymore but I do depend on the Squeezebox support in Roon. This is for the SonoreUPnP Bridge for use with Roon and my Naim NDS network player.
This is a developed on the back of the LMS2UPNP component.
A number of years ago, I did have a SB3 and for a short while a SB Touch, running LMS on a ReadyNAS. This was my introduction to streaming audio.
Still using two of them Roon and with Lyron Music Server (New LMS ;-)) depending on what I want to test. The internet Radio is still much more advanced than Roon’s one…There are still so much more radio streams included in the SBT DB…But Roon at least got more mature still missing so much stations and a convenient filtering for the stations…still something to learn from the very old stuff ![]()
Still using my Squeezebox2 as a transport. The case and remote have gone very sticky now though…
Got a couple of SB3’s (SlimDevices and Logitec branded).
Also have a Squeezebox Radio, and a Squeezebox Receiver.
And something that is not a 1st gen Squeezebox, but is in a SB2 case with a 2 line VFD.
Love to get my hands on a Transporter for my rack, but all too pricey on eBay.
Does anyone have access to tech specs for SB’s? Couple have non working headphone sockets.
somebody on the squeeze (LMS) forums will be able to assist with tech specs.
Thanks @garym I’m already on there, I’ll search and / or create a post.
I sold a couple of Touch’s in January, for a fairly decent price. They were no longer being used unfortunately. I still have a Classic and a Radio. Again, not being used.
I also still have this oddity. An 02 Joggler. It did a decent job as a controller/display for a long gone Onkyo amplifier. The Squeezeplay app was run from a USB on the side of the display.
Funnily enough, it still boots fine…even though it’s not been used since 2015. No idea how I would get it to connect to the current Lyrion server @anon77144803 any ideas?
Actually was a decent little display when in use.
I have one of those in the loft. Connect it to your wireless network, the need to go advanced settings Network and chose the LMS your running. Should not matter what version of Lyrion. But there likely is an Os update on their Forum for the Joggler. Mine was a bit iffy on wireless so I retired it. Might try and drag it out.
@anon77144803 Thanks Simon. I’ll have a tinker with it tomorrow. Let me know if you have any joy with yours ![]()
@anon77144803 Success! It couldn’t see the server with a wi-fi connection, so I plugged in an ethernet cable = all good. After that initial connection I swapped back to wi-fi and it works fine.
I didn’t update the original 2013 software. Only problem now is that I don’t have a use for it! Nice to know that it still works though. Thanks for your help.
Apologies to all for the slight derailment from the original topic.
where are you located? I have one that’s not in use, and could probably use a good home.
