I can’t say one exact thing fixed the issue, but overall it’s a lot better.
Updating the Mcintosh firmware to the latest dac DA2 helped some. Everything else started to make more sense once I did this.
Deleting the obscure on unintentional zones helped too.
Between ASIO and WASAPI, in the beginning neither consistently worked. It was one or the other.
Today, I can toggle between them both.
MAX PCM rate sounds like aliens and distortion. That doesn’t work. I can go custom and set every option to 384, that’s working well for me.
Between all the recommendations, I’m running a lot smoother. Thanks for all the advice.
