I am keeping my router dashboard open on my desktop and it repeatedly shows a pop-up ‘lost connection to device, trying to reconnect’ and it seemingly trying to re-establish connection, if that is any help.
We understand how frustrating this issue must be and sincerely apologize for the disruption. Our team is investigating behind the scenes and working diligently to pinpoint and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
To clarify, this is not related to any of the IPv6 network changes released in recent updates. We have made subtle changes in other areas of Roon as part of a long-term effort to improve stability and performance, several of which might more plausibly trigger this condition. We’re close to pinpointing the cause. From there, we’ll release a clean build as soon as possible.
We’ll continue to provide updates in this thread as progress is made. As we work alongside Devs to isolate and reproduce the issue internally, we’ll share any workarounds here. We’re aware of the urgency for Roon users who are affected, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.
· A connected audio device is not appearing in Roon
What type of Zone is affected by this problem?
· *Network Zones* are affected.
How is the affected Zone connected to your RoonServer machine?
· Network - Ethernet
Which network audio protocol is the Zone using with Roon?
· Airplay
Since this is an Airplay Zone, have you tried toggling Airplay Compatibility Mode for this Zone in the Device Setup window?
· There is no change in behavior.
Does the device play audio from another source when using the same connection?
· The device has no problems with another audio source
Have you checked that Roon is whitelisted in any firewalls?
· I've checked the firewall and the issue remains
Since you are using a network connection to the device, please ensure that your RoonServer is on the same subnet as the device
· My devices are on a single subnet but is not visible to Roon
Do you have a complex network setup?
· I don't have a mesh network, but I use *managed network switches*
Try to disable any additional networking interfaces on your RoonServer machine.
· Disabling network interfaces had no change in behavior
Check to make sure RoonReady mode is selected on the device.
· I've checked this and the issue remains
If the device has multiple output options, do the other options work as expected?
· Only one output type is affected while the other output type works as expected
Is the device using the latest firmware as per the manufacturer?
· Firmware is up-to-date but the issue remains

Describe the issue
Roon suddenly loses contact w my Airplay devices (Yamaha RX-V779, Apple TV). They are on the same network (ethernet) w wifi disabled on the Roon laptop w Win10. Enabling and disabling wifi has helped and it runs for an hour os so, then loses contact. It has worked for years without problems and suddenly the problem appeared. Everything else on the network works flawlessly (Chromecast, tv boxes, nas, printers, tv:s etc), and I can stream music from my Qobuz app on my iPhone to the Yamaha via Airplay.
I did make some changes to the way IPv6 is managed on my router as I hadn’t looked at it for a while. I switched back to auto configuration for IPv6. This broke my IPv6 system so effectively turned it off! This did seem to fix Roon. Now I’ve switched the internet setting for IPv6 back to DHCPv6-PD and changed the IPv6 setting for the local network part of the router from stateless mode to stateless DHCPv6 mode. So far this is working. I wonder if windows was setting it’s own IPv6 address because the router was trying to but failing becasue the settings were conflicting and when windows switched IPv6 addesses for whatever reason this caused roon to need to lookup the addresses of all the endpoints
The issue shown in your screenshot has been happening for a few years on my setup & it may, or may not, have been exacerbated by recent updates.
During the period I have had the problem I have changed my entire network topology 3-4 times. The problem is intermittent so near impossible to demonstrate, hopefully with R&D taking a look at the problem it will finally get resolved
Having the same problem. Audio devices just keep disappearing. Will reappear sometimes on their own. Sometimes I have to reboot server and router. But nothing fixes it permanently. Can I roll back to an earlier version? Driving me crazy!
Running Roon server and local client on Windows 11. Main DAC is hardwired through a router.
Thanks!
