B1414 AirPlay 2 feedback

it looks like real-time streams (capable of lossless 16/44) are being used in all cases … not unlike (exactly like?) what roon already used prior to adding this airplay 2 support

i guess that means airplay devices with sketchy wifi connections might still experience periodic dropouts? or are there scenarios where roon will use a buffered (lossy?) stream?

Working for my Marantz model 40n but volume level is still reported incorrectly in Roon now it seems to be four steps higher in Roon than the amp. Sometimes it takes two presses of Roons volume for the amp to change 1 step.

My HomePod minis do not work anymore, I did not try the Apple TV, my denon avc x8500 lost the icon and also does not work.

build 1410 was not playing to any of my airplay devices. today i updated to build 1414. Still no joy.

3 homepod (gen 1); 1 apple tv (latest) and a Marantz NR reciever via airplay. playback did not start in any instance. changed the airplay password and deleted and installed them on roon again as well, but no joy

For the first time since the Airplay 1 debacle both my Airplay 1 devices appear to be working correctly again, both grouped and individually. Thanks Team Roon!

Got on B1414 and it no longer plays to my HomePod mini - the track seek ‘workaround’ does not work either.

this is correct. Roon sends 16/44.1 data encoded with ALAC to all AirPlay speakers.

There are not, and we have no current plans to add any

Build 1414 plays well on my sonos five stereo pair like 1410 did, but the nice zone icon that resembles a sonos five is gone an i only get a generic speaker icon now.

B1414 plays to Bose Soundtouch 10 (Airplay2) + Soundtouch 30 (Airplay) group, but it is severely out of sync. This was working ok pre 1400 airplay issues.

Hello @PixelPopper , @Richard_Altesman ,

I see that you both posted in this thread in November last year regarding Roon Airplay connectivity failures with the Naim Mu-so 1st generation:

I wonder if you currently have functioning airplay playback? (if you are still hanging on to the mu-so gen1 …).

If so, which Roon (server) build are you using? Trying to work out if my issue is different, being on the latest early access version, or has been around for a while without me noticing - which is certainly possible as I am not using the Mu-so with Roon on a regular basis anymore.

Any info appreciated!

Hi Ozzie, I’ve just updated so not sure what the current status is.
My server is Win11 64 Pro & ipad/iphone controls of MK 1 muso & qb which stopped working after the previous release.

Problem appears to be resolved with today’s updates of server & clients (Airplay 1)…
