Build 1392+: Various Artists Compilations Intermittently Splitting into Duplicate Albums (by track) in Roon, ARC [Roon Investigating]

No, not really. I can sometimes get one or two albums to behave for a while, but not all of them. I currently have 45 that are messed up - either missing tracks, or, more likely, with duplicated tracks as follows:

Thanks @David_Evans and @CrystalGipsy we’re aware this issue is affecting multiple users, our team will continue to investigate. I’ll share any updates as they arise

I have the same issue with split compilation albums and multiple tracks. I solved much of the first error by using local metadata. My collection is in a good state so it was easy. But the second problem is not solvable. I tried rebooting, even uninstall the program without success.

I’m really disappointed. Audirvana is also in a stalled condition and Plex recently announced that will stop tidal integration. I’m thinking very seriously to stop everything and return to the good old days of folder browsing with foobar2000.

It’s not a bad idea if you’re in the Windows eco system. I have gone back to using LMS, at the moment with Qobuz integration, which works perfectly BTW, but have been buying a lot more music over the last few months with a view to maybe stopping using Qobuz when my sub ends in 3 months time.
Qobuz works properly with LMS so I may just keep it.
I get to play to all my end points as I did with Roon with no difference in SQ noticed, and none of the problems with duplications etc. I just want to listen to music.
Roon seems like beta software to me, my licence expires in December and I will not renew.

I use both platforms. Windows and Mac and my music is well organized by my own standards. I just want to hear my music. Roon all these years has been my best friend. And it’s very stable no matter the combination.

Windows server, Mac client, iPad remote, Android whatever and so on. With a single click I just listen. But last year is a nightmare because I see all these split albums. My OCD is hitting me hard. And it’s something new. All the previous years everything was OK.

Hi @David_Evans,

Have you applied multiple tags to the duplicated albums?

Hi @David_Evans and @DDPS,

In an increased effort to further understand this issue, our development team has enabled advanced library diagnostics on both of your Roon Servers.

As a next step, for the diagnostics to take effect, could you please both reboot your Roon Server twice, and then simply reproduce the issue ( I realize this may take some time) and report back with the specific album/albums you’re seeing. :+1:

Thank you!

@benjamin - Reboots are done and I will let you know when I start seeing odd album counts again. Will take at least a few days.

Ok have done the reboots, will report back

Ok it’s gone haywire again (5021 of 2154 albums) but some of the multiples are from Qobuz, with no tags, and even some triple listings

Edit, some Quintuple listings!

As of this morning, I am still not seeing any issues, which is sort of remarkable.

Well as of this evening, it has officially started:

…only when sorting by artist.

Wow, just keeps going up now:

I see this from time to time. Rebooting my Roon server solves it…for a while.

Thanks for the updates @David_Evans and @DDPS, our team will take a closer look and see if there is additional information provided this time around. Stay tuned!

Yes, folks on this thread are quite aware of that “fix” and we have been collaborating on a deep analysis of this with Roon.

Yep, but not everyone reads every post. Some might be looking for a solution even if temporary. No need to worry what someone else posts unless it’s just wrong.

Well today I am at:
