Because my current problem is buried in a thread bearing an unrelated name, I thought I would start a fresh thread. I have a PC and want to connect with it remotely via my Ipad. I have been through the user manual and followed its suggestions, but no luck. At times my Ipad could find my PC, but could not connect. But now it cannot find the PC either. While I am grateful for the community support, I am a little troubled that I cannot communicate reliably directly with someone at Roon. As best as I can tell, no Roon person has responded within the community, and the one email I sent to Roon has gone unanswered…
Hey @diver110 – starting a new thread is always a good idea if you need help. It’s also a good idea to flag @support and include all the details of your setup, as described here.
Based on the info in your post this sounds like it could be firewall related, so you might want to try shutting off firewalls on your Core machine completely to see if that helps. If that doesn’t work, let us know the details I mentioned above and we’ll figure out what’s going on here. Thanks!
Well, it turned out I had 3 firewalls. I turned them all off. And now the remote works. Many thanks. Do I need to keep the firewalls off whenever I use Roon?

No, you should be ok if you whitelist Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe. You could also keep these ports open, but I think the safer course is to whitelist particular processes.
