I have many titles in my classical music category that don’t show up on their respective composer’s page. For example, I have loaded in Leonard Bernstein conducting all of Beethoven’s symphonies. But when I search my Roon database by “composer, Beethoven” the title is not shown. This happens for many of my classical titles. Is there a way for me to fix this?
I have made sure that the composers are listed in the credits, but that doesn’t seem to help. Thanks in advance.
See this if it applies (and the other posts in this thread as well as links from there to other threads):
I checked all the files and the have the correct “composer” listed in the meta data. Not sure why the Roon software is not recognizing some recordings
That’s not what I meant. The main question was if the affected tracks have a Go to composition entry in the track menu. If they don’t, then they don’t count as a recording of a composition, and this can happen even if they have a composer credit
Ah - I notice that you don’t have a “Discography” tab (see my screenshot), so that means you are not using a streaming service integrated into Roon.
You are using only the “Compositions” tab - and in this case, it is as @suedkiez said, you need to have had Roon accurately identify your albums and compositions on those albums in order to get a sensible listing.
An alternative way of getting what you are looking for would be to use the Album Browser instead of the Composer Browser and use Focus to select all your albums that contain works by Beethoven. E.g.:
It looks as though your metadata needs some work. Can you use Focus to give you a display of all the “Unidentified” albums (choose “Identified” in the Focus inspector, and click it to turn it red - “Unidentified”)
