Good morning,
Here is my problem, I have an Audio Cocktail x45 and a DAC 200 signature from Atoll when I use the app provided by the Cocktail I have no problem, however when I use Roon all my DSD files are converted to PCM on the Roon app. I don’t understand where the problem comes from?

Please give the following guides a read:

Bonjour mon dac est pas bien reconnu sur le Roon core il est reconnu comme atoll Hd usb et non comme un dac atoll 200 signature

It’s the device manufacturer’s decision to determine the USB device name under which a device registers itself. This is a purely cosmetic decision though because this doesn’t change the device nor its capabilities.

ok but the cocktail and the dac does not react as it should, it makes DOP when it should not

I have two tabs in the settings I have the bridge and audio device settings and I should see the dsd management function somewhere

It would be really helpful if you provided details of your Roon core and explained how the devices are connected.

DoP is DSD, nothing wrong with that. Please provide screenshots of your signal path, device settings in Roon and the DAC settings on streamer (X45) if applicable in case you need more help.

on my dac with this version of the song I should see dsd 64 but this is not the case when I use roon

bonjour, tout le signale devrait etre en dsd natif et mon dac devrait voir du dsd 64 ce qui n’est pas le cas

my installation of roon core dates from yesterday with the latest version, on a dell optiplex 7040. connecting via ethernet my audio cocktail is also connected via ethernet and it is connected via usb to my dac 200 signature. my cocktail and my dac can natively manage up to dsd 256

When using Roon, you’re using the streamer’s output to the DAC. Typically, native DSD is only supported on Windows.

Nonetheless, native DSD and DoP are identical (it’s encapsulation), and the only difference is that you’ll not reach DSD256 using DoP because the streamer maxes out at 192 kHz.

What are the device settings for DSD playback?

thank you for your answer but in this specific case when I use the native application of the streamer if the streamer sends dsd to the dac the dac sees native dsd

Since it’s converted to PCM rather than using DSD (native or DoP), please confirm the DSD playback strategy in settings.

It would seem that the issue is that the connected DAC isn’t recognised, and the streamer isn’t passing device information to Roon.

You could try identifying the device or manually select a DAC that has similar specifications.

Sounds unlikely to me, the streamer is Roon Ready and the screenshot shows the USB identifier of the DAC – so I assume that all the necessary data is sent to Roon. It’s is more likely a misconfiguration (native instead of DoP, activated volume control) of the streamer that prevents DSD streaming to the DAC – or the manufacturer hasn’t implemented DSD into it’s RAAT implementation (sounds somewhat unlikely to me). But what do we know, we’re just Roon users and not Cocktail Audio support.
