I ordered the below from Amazon
Amazon.com: FIBBR Crystal HDMI 2.0 Cable 4K Ultra HD - Fiber Optic HDMI Cable Support 18Gbps High Speed HDR10 Hdcp 2.2 for HDTV, Xbox, Blue-Ray Player, PS4 PS4Pro, PC, Apple TV, 6.6ft: Industrial & Scientific
and for BNC I ordered the below
Amazon.com : Alvin’s Cables 12G HD SDI Video Coaxial Cable BNC Male to Male for 4K Video Camera 1M : Camera & Photo

I’m open to suggestions and recommendations…

Seem like excellent choices and not excessive. Trying to recall the back of the GAIA…two BNCs? Truly interested in your outcome. Fitting the GAIA into my current installation is a problem of room availability, but I shall move things around. Fortunately, none of my equipment presents a ventilation problem. Besides, my wife gets a huge kick out of installing equipment so she will be a great help in moving our amp etc. Thank you for your input.

The BNC’s are to feed the GAIA with external clock from the T+… It is the general understanding that this architecture brings out the best SQ.

That’s as rare as Roon implementing a most-asked-for new feature… happy man…

Sorry, what I was noting that the GAIA requires two BNC cables (which you clarified). Alvin markets great products. I usually see a Vinshine product and buy. In this case, since my HDMI/i2s port is occupied, I hesitated until someone could offer their assessment of improvement in SQ.

[Yes, I refer to her as “my current wife”. I make no future commitments. Likely our attorneys do. She likes my buying equipment: “keeps you away from your hoodlum friends outside.” (hmm, she also likes modifying Glocks…the ultimate tinkerer).]

I bow to what you have… You are one lucky Human…

I’m about to bring in the GAIA saying it belongs to my colleague… hahahahaha…

She derives as much if not more from the things that interest me, and it is reciprocal.

I have not ordered the GAIA partially because I cannot assure the two of us that it is an improvement that we can hear. We do not always hear what others do.

I agree… I too don’t know if my ears are sonic enough to hear the difference…

I like fiber HDMI for video use. For I2S, I am not sure it’s a good choice and I suspect there may be a chance it may not work. I hope it works for you.

OOps… For video use, how does the Dolby Atmos content travel then?

I used a rather short 12” wired HDMI cable from the IRIS to Terminator. It was a monoprice unit that was like $4. I don’t think an active cable will work. @VinshineAudio

let me order a normal one just in case…

It is not supported in any piece of device in your stereo music playback chain, especially Roon and Lumin. ATMOS is transferred over HDMI Audio, not the HDMI I2S you’ll be using. At this point it is totally irrelevant to Roon users, please ignore it for music playback. I believe it is not useful for people who play audio with two speakers anyway. It is relevant mostly to AV processors with multiple speakers.

There will also be additional jitter from the fiber conversion, which I suspect (again) it may not be good for clock signal in I2S even if it works at all.

Yep, active HDMI cable will not work. Please use a passion HDMI cable < 1m lenght.

Very helpful, Alvin. Thank you. It is interesting and important to know what you personally use and recommend.

Thank you for the info. I placed an order for the power cables.

How do you buy the product, i don’t see any buy option. Is this an offline option, where we need to email and get a quote etc…

It looks like you can’t buy direct, but must buy from one of their retailers.

Select the ‘Order/Info’ tab.

I tried that out (clicked on ONline-shop) and it brings me to the screen I shared earlier, after I select the HDMI product.

I think i have to email to get a personal login and then will be able to order online.
