The metadata on the album A Long Time Comin is accurate. That is not the problem. The problem is ROON’s generic discussion of Killing Floor as it says erroneously Bloomfield is the singer when the real singer is Gravenites as the album accurately states.
your referring me somewhere else assumes at the outset the inaccuracy is album specific when it is not. Am I missing something here? Thank you for properly allocating where my post belongs. I don’t think you carefully read what I said, however, because if you had you would not have said the inaccuracy is album specific when the inaccuracy pertains to ROON’s generic discussion of the song Killing Floor.
If you don’t like album information sourced from Wikipedia, there are a couple options available to you:
Disable Wikipedia as an editorial source
Correct the Wikipedia article
You don’t get it. The point is not I don’t like it. The point is roon is mistaken. Roon has messed up. Roon is inaccurate. It’s ROON’s discussion. Roon should fix it. If roon (and you) would simply look at the metadata on THE ALBUM, you’d see the erroneous attribution in ROON’s generic discussion of the history of the tune. The discussion of the history of the tune has nothing to to do with the album or the artist.
Do you know how to source all the artists who have covered a particular tune? If you do know how to do that, you will see that the list of covers is preceded by a discussion of the tunes history. It’s that discussion of the tune’s history that I am pointing to as containing the erroneous attribution of the singer of Killing Floor to be Bloomfield when the actual singer is Gravenites. Wikipedia has nothing to do with it. Some roon editor has screwed up.
Okay. Thanks. I see what you are saying. Thanks for effort it’s taken. I learned something. My frustration is, as you said, with Wikipedia. I’m not going to learn Wikipedia protocol to fix it. Too much trouble. Glad to know how to source roon attribution errors in the future, however.

Roon doesn’t own Wikipedia data, but it’s open source and quite easy to correct (you don’t need a Wikipedia account, you just have to document your reasons for submitting the correction).
The Support > Metadata category is useful for centralizing data corrections throughout the Roon ecosystem, even if we don’t own the data.
