My Roon software won't start up

Roon will not update from Version 2.0 build 1368 running on Rhine Z1; it tells me that "There was an error checking for an update," even though it tells me that a new version is ready for download. I have backed up the system and tried to install a fresh version, but I need help to install it.
After I updated ARC, it will not connect to the older operating system 1368. What can I do to update and reconnect ARC?
