Yeah… it sounds like the certification process for Roon Ready has been completed successfully, and the N-01XD would be Roon Ready after a firmware (or network) update from the Esoteric part

N-01XD is now Roon Ready.

Launch Esoteric Sound Stream app to upgrade the network firmware to 12.3k

In the app settings, enable Roon Ready (default).

USB firmware and I/F firmware also need to be running the latest version, see:

Already update the net firmware from 12.2 to 12.3， it’s roon ready now ! Nice

Note that latest I/F firmware is 2.00a. USB firmware is V0C0502.

To clarify the firmware update, there are three parts. You need internet access, correct type of computer OS, and two different cables.

Network firmware update - run Esoteric Sound Stream app on iPad or Android, and it will prompt you to update it (via internet) if necessary

I/F firmware update - this needs to be connected to the micro USB port (normally unused)

USB MQA firmware update - this needs to be done over the USB-Type B port for USB DAC input

Important notes:

  • Make sure you connect using the correct cable to the correct port (this is super important)

  • Make sure you have downloaded the correct software for the correct model - do not attempt to use a firmware not meant for your model (someone did that and bricked it)

  • Make sure you use the real correct type of required computer OS, not virtual

  • Follow instructions carefully

Doing these wrong could be disastrous.

My unit has updated yesterday, it seems work fine with roon👍
