ETA for Anthem AVM70 Roon Ready certification?

Yet Anthem continues to advertise Roon Ready as “Coming Soon”.

I don’t think it will happen. The internal DAC/processor in the AVM 70 takes some time to recognize a format/resolution change. If it was Roon Ready, this would be more exposed than it is now and be terrible when the resolution changes from one song to the next.

Not sure if that is the problem or what it is, but I wish someone on one side or the other would be more transparent as to what is going on. I am a huge Anthem fan and getting ready to purchase and AVM 90 and will likely be doing what I am doing with my current Anthem D2V, use a Chromecast. But it is such a shame to do that with such high end gear.

I have been a fan of Anthem gear for a long time now.
It would be lovely to have some good news about Roon Ready arriving for Anthem.
In the meantime I get by using HDMI out of a Nucleus into my AVM90 - it is working well enough for me and I find the AVM90 sounds superb.

Hi Julian,
Correct me if I’m wrong but you can’t get video display of album covers/lyrics with HDMI out of Nucleus, correct? This is why I used a Chrome with my Roon ROCK.

You can if you use a third party OS like DietPi.

I use my NUC to display artwork and play multi channel audio to great effect using DietPi

William, Michael,
Thanks for your inputs.
You are both adding useful information for users who want to get more than just the music from Roon.
Roon offers so much more which will be available to Anthem users when? the AVM70/90 models are made Roon Ready.

Off topic, but I would love some guidance as to how to accomplish that, can you send me a link or instructions on that? I have a NUC set up running ROCK through the standard installer. Feel free to DM me.Thanks!

No problem I will chat in DM

Anthem recently provided a Roon Ready status update on their social media. Please take a look.

And yet Anthem continues to advertise “Roon coming soon”, despite the fact that they have known for a long time that wasn’t the case. The promise of Roon Ready should have been pulled years ago when they had to do a redesign due to chip changes.

Sorry, that statement gives me no assurance that Roon Ready will happen in the near future, if at all (for the current line).

As a happy owner of an oldie, but goody AVM20 (v2), sadly it seems Anthem isn’t the company it use to be. :frowning:

Hey @Saturn94, would you mind sharing the link where you see “Roon coming soon” on their website? Thanks. :pray:t2:

Third paragraph

Also in the listed company logos.

It’s listed in the description of each of the AVM and MRX series products.

Thank you @Saturn94, much appreciated. We’ll reach out to Anthem to let them know

The longer this mis-advertising remains unremedied, the more culpable Roon is. I think four years is enough.

How is Roon culpable for Anthem (mis)advertising something they won’t or can’t deliver?!

Roon certainly has some control how their name is used.

They could definitely make some moves if Anthem was saying that something were Roon Ready when it really is not. If they are saying that “it will be Roon Ready, one day, sometimes, when we get around to it” does not (although at this point I think it is pretty clear that the current generation of AVM70 never will)… there isn’t really anything that Roon can complain about, they aren’t claiming anything technically untrue from Roon’s end. Definitely something a prospective purchaser should look at however when considering whether to do business with Anthem.

I love Anthem Products and have been a user and fan for years, but I had waited too long for Roon Ready.

I now use a Trinnov which really is Roon ready.

And probably a better device, if you want an AVR, too.
