Thanks for your help. I’m using the onboard DAC of the Eversolo. I’ve opened a support ticket with Roon as well. As really I think they should contact Eversolo not us customers.

Yes, mine is recognized in Roon, but limited to 384kHz as well. I hope Eversolo takes note of this limitation and provides a fix. Despite that, it’s great to have the Dmp-a8 roon ready. Early impressions is the on-board dac sounds really really good. -:slight_smile:

Regarding the issue,

When we applied for certification with roon, it could only give us Max sample rate (PCM) 384Khz.

My enjoyment of the music will be unaffected, but I may suffer from a recurring OCD flair-up.

And my hearing has been negatively affected by a lifetime of fun. I can report, however, that I have really been enjoying the DMP-A8 streaming Qobuz through Roon in my setup. Feeding it via USB from the Shanling ET3 also sounds sweet.

It’s a great age for audio.

I think that it’s a clear sign that something is getting lost in the translation between Roon an Eversolo. I bet they get it figured out long before I need the functionality.

How do I get the latest DMP-A8 firmware with Roon Ready?

Currently on 1.2.80 and when I try and update it tells me I’m up to date

You can download it and install it from USB, but it was automatic for me.

Eversolo did say that they were “rolling it out,” so perhaps your number hasn’t come up. This seems odd to me, given the time you’ve waited already.

I’d be tempted to email Eversolo support.

Sorry I don’t know the appropriate incantations.

I have one ordered and am excited to set it up and put it through it’s paces. I’d really like to see Eversolo release one that will run the Roon Core. Don’t think the DMP-A8 has this capability. I currently have the Roon Nucleus One, which is waaaaay faster with less stuttering/locking up than the core I had running on a NAS I built (the NAS could really only run one zone effectively and I had to clear the que on the other zones to avoid problems). I’m partial to all-in-one solutions and think Eversolo would have a major success if the incorporated the Roon Core into a device like the DMP-A8. I’d pay at lease what I paid for the Nucleus One for the additional functionality.
