I’ve been using the Eversolo T8 in combination with the NAD C658 for a week now. Very nice, highly recommended.
What did yours before ? I have the DMP-A6, but I’m going to add an external dac and then my DMP-A6 will functionally just be a streamer, as is the T8.
I’m keen to hear what you like about the T8.
For this, I used the DAC from the NAD C658. This also sounded good. In this setup, I am of course also using the same DAC, but the sound is more homogeneous and transparent. I may also go for the Eversolo Z10 in the future, but as far as I can see, it does not have a subwoofer output. That is the advantage of the NAD C658.
Glad to hear this.
This is my Christmas present to myself this year. I ordered the T8 yesterday and now I am waiting for the launch next month of the Z10 dac. I will be connecting the Z10 to a Yamaha A-S2000 amplifier which I have a sub hooked up to it. I have been using the DMP-A6 with a upgraded linear power supply since it was introduced. Really have enjoyed this dac.

I, too, ordered the Eversolo T8. They stay out of stock but will arrive in three days. We plan to run both the Auralic Aries 2 (USB) and the T8 (i8) which will be switchable via the front panel on the Denafrips Terminator Plus. Shall see.
My Eversolo Z10 Dac just shipped. The T8 is suppose to ship next week.
Looking forward to this upgrade.

The t8 arrives on Wednesday. Amazon has them in stock for a very few hours each time. Available at 6 am and out of stock by 10 am
The way Eversolo constantly releases new models, I have a gut feeling that in about a year they will release a T10. It’s just a thought. Critics are pointing out that for a separate streamer dac combo they should have been the same size like most manufactured brands do with their stacks. Opportunity missed.
Hence the T10 will come out in about a year with the same dimensions to make the stack complete along with some type of sparkle upgrade added. It’s just a thought for whatever that is worth.

Pure conjecture on my part, but I believe that the t8 will be obsoleted by spring or summer. It is an inexpensive device compared to my abandoned Auralic.
There are several companies that will take the t8 in trade (not Eversolo dealers) toward other things at that time. These same companies will now not touch Auralic. They explain that they are stuck with those which they have.
So, for awhile, I run both until/unless some avenue appears to sell/trade Auralic products.
Looking forward to the T8. For me first time using fiber network in my audio chain and also first time with I2S. Those 2 alone should have an effect not to mention the rest of the streamer’s architecture.

I used i2s between my Denafrips Terminator + and a Jay’s Audio CD transport. Sold the transport so shall use that DAC port for the t8, WiiM and Eversolo are competing brands so if the marketing is done well, we should see new products from both after the holidays. I think your (in transit) DAC will be very, very cool.
Received an in transit notice on the Eversolo T8 this morning.
If it is true that Wang locked the Auralic products and has shut down the link allowing them to be unlocked and re-sold…if that is, indeed, true…there is a resultant legal liability, but I have not heard of action being pursued.
That would be the kicker.. if he locked down the units.. but my logical moved would be to not get another (Chinese) streamer with custom software that’s based on Android .
Not familiar with Auralic products. Is it that you have to register it with their server just to use it?

My understanding was that you must request it be unlocked when you want to re-sell and that there is a now broken URL to access to do that. The Music Room, out West, said they can no longer take these units in trade because they were locked. Perhaps I am misunderstanding.
So it is locked in to a owner and for the owner to sell it to another person, then the owner needs to have their credentials removed as so to be sold.
So it is somewhat like a mobile device but for a piece of audio gear.

That was/is my understanding, and sometime after purchase, someone told me of a link to use to contact Wang and request unlocking. That link, of course, is now dead. And while I see Auralic devices on Ebay etc, I suspect that the new users may have difficulty using them. Would be nice to hear that this is not the case; at which point, I would sell or give away my Aries G2. As I said, a well-known buyer/trader of used equipment does not want them. There are dealers selling their remaining inventory, a deep discount. I think your analogy to a locked phone is a good one.
In today’s world it is not surprising for something like this to happen. I have amps, tuners, tape players going back for 50 years. In all of this time, that never even dawned on me that this could be part of how audio gear operates.
For all future audio gear purchases going forward I will definitely make sure that this is not part of the hardware requirement to operate.
I do believe you are correct in legal liability here. I hope it is successful and large to set a president for others to think twice before making this requirement.

If this occurred among high end car enthusiasts, class action suit(s) would be immediate. I do not see the hi-fi enthusiast group as able to organize, but I do believe that what this company has done is deceptive and arguably fraudulent. I think the argument would have to be made that there was an implied contract that the buyer was purchasing a device that belonged to him and could be sold at his discretion.
As I indicated, it would have been easy to set up a single page site that allowed the download of a code that would unlock the unit.
It would be difficult for the suit to prove sizable damages, but it may send a signal. After all, phones can be purchased unlocked, and this was not an option with these Auralic devices. Owners would would have to decide whether this was a financial impact or merely a disappointment.
I am going to assume that companies like Eversolo and WiiM would not attempt such a controlling action.
Amazon has a Cyber Monday sale on Eversolo Play…I do not need one…so I bought one..
