Description of Issue

I can no longer open up Roon. I get this fatal error message. I tried rebooting and the error persists. I am able to access my Apple Music files from the Apple Music app.

Please help.

Thanks,
Drew Hoffman

Hi Drew,

That error can be a result of lack of write permissions to the tmp folder. There have been previous threads on it before. I would suggest checking the write permission for that folder.

Hey @Drew_Hoffman,

Ben here with the support team, it’s great to see you on community again!

Following up on this thread, I wanted to see if any of the above has helped? Pulling the steps from the thread @DaveN mentioned, let me know if this helps:

Open Terminal.app on your mac
Type the following commands and hit enter after each command:

  • cd /tmp
  • sudo chown $(whoami) /tmp
You may be asked to enter your Mac password after that last command.

I’ll be monitoring this thread for your reply :+1:
