I have been a Roon user for many years. I now have a library of 22500 ‘favourite’ albums. However in the last few months I have grown frustrated with the recurring issue of many tracks “skipping” to the next one when trying to play them. This seems to be a worldwide issue. I have been patiently waiting for Roon to solve it, but it seems that a solution has not been found yet and the issue keeps happening. So, I have moved all of my Roon playlists into Qobuz and I am now thinking to cancel my upcoming Roon renewal subscription and stick to using Qobuz only, which does not seem to have the “skipping” issue when used on its own. However, I loved and still love using Roon, yet… has anyone else gone down this path and regretted it, and why if ended up using Qobuz only? TIA for your input.
Because it’s a Qobuz issue that affects all third-party Qobuz clients.
Do you like the Roon features → regret
Don’t care about the Roon features → no regret
Hi, it’s not often I get to write anything on this site or qobuz. Years past I went all in and purchase a life membership to tidal. Then when group off band members pulled together and purchased tidal and at that time their already excellent style of music would change somewhat to to styles of music the new owners performed and to some extent it did and for me I had to go deep mining for what liked. After sometime not using tidal ignoring the channel for some time listening to my cds again and immensely enjoying the experience a friend popped around and mentioned Qobuz and recommended me a trial run,and it worked they had changed the layout/music on offer, the long image I held of them being more classical had 0gone they had the lot. So I signed up monthly at the time.,now I pay £123 per annum. Also I’ve got back to using tidal again.
I am retired.,severely disabled,
So for me spending £120 a year is a bargain, think I get to listen to all sorts before I purchase the discs.
That’s the other thing I still buy disc’s and I love my music more these days.

Er, if you dropped Roon and on…
why would they read this? ![]()
So I gather that the issue of skipping tracks seems to be still ongoing generally (been a few months now). “Certain Qobuz tracks are failing to play in Roon within specific geographies..” I guess I will have to make my own decision (to drop or to keep Roon) based simply on the fact that it is still unresolved and how annoying it is (very, for me) and whether I want to live with it for the foreseeable future until a solution is found. Thanks everyone.
Well, may be some who did may have regretted it and returned to Roon, so I was/am curious to know from others who have been in my same boat now. I am really torn because I always liked Roon and stuck to it despite past problems. But the skipping issue (still unresolved for months it seems) is really putting me off now.
Why not try without Roon for a while and see how you feel about it then? You can always return to Roon anytime you wish.
Yeah, there is no need to “drop Roon and regret it”… it’s there when you ever want to come back (I know, I have come and gone and come and gone… never any regrets).
So try out whatever else you might want to use instead.
