Grouped Sonos speakers stop playing after track change (ref#UO6CK1)

Describe the issue

If I group Sonos speakers together using Sonos (either the app or holding the play/pause button on a speaker to group it), then the grouped speaker (not the one Roon has a zone) will stop playing back after a track finishes or when skipping to another track.

Usually this works fine, but once it gets in this state I can't work out how to fix it. The last time, grouping and ungrouping the speakers via Roon and Sonos a few times got things back to normal, but I can't get that to fix things this time it's happened.

This was previously reported, but closed over here: Roon ungrouping Sonos speakers

I seemed to have fixed this by grouping the speakers in Roon, ungrouping and then grouping via the Sonos app. After doing that I can skip tracks without any ungrouping. This definitely seems like a bug in the Roon/Sonos integration, however.

Hi @seadowg ,

Thanks for reaching out with you report and details how to solve it. Next time you get into this state, can you please let us know the exact local time + date + track playing, so that we can enable diagnostics to see if there are any clues in the logging? Thanks!

Will do! Are you able to make sure the thread doesn’t automatically close after 10 days? Otherwise, I might not be able to reply.

Hi @seadowg,

Thanks for the follow-up! If the thread auto-closes, we’ll be able to re-open it and merge it with your original thread, so no worries there.

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you! :raised_hands:

Do you mean I should make a new post and then reference this one? Are you not able to just disable auto close for this instead? I’d have to go back through the Typeform flow just to create a post that’s a duplicate anyway.

Hello @seadowg,

You can respond here, tagging someone from the support team, and we will reopen the thread.

How would I respond if the thread is closed? Sorry, I’m probably missing something really obvious here!

Hello @seadowg,

If you wouldn’t be able to respond in the old thread please feel free to raise a new one and we will merge it and reopen
