I’m sorry, I have so many things going on in parallel that I don’t always remember the full context and hardware…
Is the GPU offload working? The 20k filter should be running on the GPU, so if things are operating correctly, tweaking the CPU doesn’t help that case…
Do you have multicore=”auto” or multicore=”1”? If the former, I would suggest trying the latter as well
GPU offload is working and multicore is set to “1“.
Well, then, with the current settings, it seems difficult to use the 20kHz filter.
I often use the Roon Radio function, and this will play DSD sources as well, either from the local library or from Qobuz.
It’s probably not a big issue, so I’ll deal without it.
And, thank you, as always!
Aww, sorry. It seems that DSD content on Qobuz is for sale only at the moment.
I do buy SACDs from time to time because Japanese brands (such as Esoteric and Tower Records Japan) constantly release them. I consider them as a guide for my music shopping.
I see. So, it seems I don’t need it anyway.
I know the enormous amount of high-frequency noise that comes with DSD64, and a lot of disk players had a switch on the rear panel to filter the noise. That’s why I thought it would be a good idea to use the 20kHz filter.

I’ve installed the new 5.17.2 on Fedora 43, but the dongle key doesn’t seem to work…
I removed the dongle from the computer, reinserted it, and uploaded the key file, but it still shows “Trial”.
Is there a way to fix this?
I’m not sure whether I can actually use it after 30 minutes, yet.
PS. Okay. It does stop after 30 minutes…
PS2. I restored the previous version, so it’s okay for the time being.
Since the new kernel version in Fedora 43 broke compatibility in HID mode, the dongle is now used in USB mode on Fedora instead. Dongle manufacturer is looking into this.
You can switch the dongle mode yourself with a Windows utility. If you don’t have this utility, drop us an email.
I noticed the fans are running faster than usual, so I checked the CPU temperature on the web console.
It stated around 70 degrees, whereas it used to be below 50.
This never happend before regardless of the cumulative time HQPe had been running.
And I think you mean 48.1, but you’re right.
I use the plain 48, so I’ll try that one and see how it goes.
Yes, sorry. I got most of the issues fc43 issues worked around on 48.1. But overall, fc43 has been horribly painful OS release to deal with, with a lot of challenges.
Ummm…
CPU temperature still seems unstable – sometimes around 70 and sometimes around 50.
It is generally hotter than before, anyway.
I understand Fedora has certain amount of history and positive reputation.
I wonder what went wrong with 43. (Perhaps the previous developer retired or so?)
