You need to burn the specific NAA OS image on a microSD card and boot the Holo Red from it

Install Balena Etcher on your pc (Windows or macOS) then download the NAA OS image and burn it to the microSD card using Balena Etcher, then remove the original microSD card from Holo Red and put the new microSD card in the Holo Red and power it on

And the results are amazing. I bought one (in EU) couple of weeks ago, and I could not be more satisfied. More clarity, deeper and better controlled bass, better imaging.
One of my beter audio investments (although I have never tested another device as NAA)
@dabassgoesboomboom - I finally decided my path forward and I took your advice and order the UP gateway and also the network adapter for my M1 āworkā MBP. Itās the most cost effective option to play with as Iām still figuring things out!!
Based on how this works, Iāll see whether it makes sense to upgrade to a dedicated M2 Pro Mac mini / M1 Max studio and maybe the holo red.
Once I receive the gateway, Iāll reach out for help to set it upā¦.

Yes was my thinking also.
Your T+A DAC 200 has serious engineering, galvanically isolating the digital section from the analogue section. This is not a common thing. This is more advanced than DACs with only USB isolation (still a very good thing)
You can easily live with the Up Gateway forever but the Holo Red will work just as well - you will load practically the same NAA software to run it

Dumb questionā¦.does the UP gateway come with a power supply or do I need to purchase a special one. I canāt tellā¦.
It doesnāt come with one
It takes the common 5Vdc 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC plug
What country are you in. I can suggest a decent one
I donāt want to say digital sources donāt matter with your DAC because I will get abusive messages 
but with your DAC the statement is more true than most DACs ever created - due to the entire digital board having no electrical connection to the analogue board

Last question before I go to sleep - assuming I have a powerful Mac OS processor, is the max output rate DSD 256 with the NAA? Or can I get up to DSD 512. I believe with the Holo red, thereās a way to get to DSD 1024, but thatās in the futureā¦
I think my signal path is this:
Iām using a remote Roon player on an iPhone ā Roon nucleus (core) ā MacBook Pro (connected to network via usb c to Ethernet adapter) ā UP Gateway NAA ā T+A Dac 200 (via usb) ā Hegel h590 amp ā Speakers.
With the UP Gateway running NAA OS on a USB stick you can achieve DSD1024 - the Macbook can output that over the network but likely wonāt only due to its CPU limitationsā¦ no limitation of the UP Gateway
Jussi has the UP and the DAC 200 also

Super cool! Then I really donāt need to spend the extra money on the holo red and can use the money to buy the best Mac processor that I can.
Any advice on a power supply would be great. Thank you again - thereās no way on earth I could be doing this without your guidance and help!
Macs are limited and expensive
If you want to unlock HQP with DSD upsampling, its best to invest in a gaming spec machine. This machine can be in a different room (so you donāt hear it) as long as it is ethernet connected to your network
Cheaper than the expensive Macs and more capable

Are there any youād recommend? To get a top spec Mac mini / Studio Iām looking at $2k usd which is a lot of money. It will only be used for hqp & upsampling so if thereās a better choice, Iām in!
Oh, forgot to mention that I ordered the UP gateway with:
