HQPlayer no Devices Found (Network Audio Adapter)

Yes, a non-powered USB hub in between the Red and Intona does indeed fix it and I have been using it that way. This was mainly an academic exercise at this point.

In fact, the hub provides another port and allows me to add a USB FLIRC to Ropiee on Red so that I can control play/pause, next/prev tracks via my DAC 200 remote. And still have isolated audio output via the Intona. Great all-in-one NAA/remote solution.

I only bought the Hifime isolator because it was recommended by an RME DAC designer (or someone like that) and costs $49. Will probably just keep it as a secondary/backup.

I posted a couple weeks ago above in this same thread:

This one?:

Yes.

Older Intona might be less problematic than newer 7055 series (I have the 7055-B)

Of course some have it working fine with certain DACs but as I linked 2 weeks ago, look at compatibility issues on Intona’s forum:

https://forum.intona.net/viewforum.php?f=10&sid=9689381fcb4921037f210e7f0a6cfcbe

The older Intona 7054 is still available to buy too

Industrial Version 7054‑X

I have two of the regular 7054 that I use with T+A DAC 200 and Accuphase DAC-60 card.

And I have two 7055-C, one which I use between my Ryzen 7 5800X machine and T+A HA 200 and another one which I use for my measurement rig to isolate audio analyzer and the NUC hosting the measurement software.

I think I will order couple of more shortly.

Hi @dabassgoesboomboom and @jussi_laako

Given my technical ineptitude and the fact that we are a mac household, I’ve decided to go with a new Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra Chip with 24 core CPU and 60 Core GPU and 64GB of RAM.
Fingers crossed I’ll get at least DSD 512 (& maybe 1024) gapless playback (using 7ECv2) with this processing power through my DAC 200.
I hope I specc’d this correctly… Will report back in a few weeks…!

I have that exact Mac Studio and it does not do DSD512 with 7ECx modulators…

It’s a lot of money for just HQPlayer and to still have limitations.

The same budget could make something much better. Even if paying a local computer shop to build it.

But if you’re using it for other things , then of course not a complete waste.

I wonder how is that possible, because my MacBook Pro with M1Max happily does DSD512 with ASDM7EC-light / ASDM7EC-light 512+fs

Which filters though ?

And with Non-integer ratio?

There are of course also ready built machines from HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc… Both regular business workstations as well as gaming rigs. If one would like to have a proper GPU too, then gaming machine product lines are suitable.

I should have listened to you @dabassgoesboomboom …!

Here’s what I’ve configured online (can’t seem to add GPU for some reason) and will be calling other shops tomorrow. Cancelled my macatudio order:

Default ones, so 1x=poly-sinc-gauss-long Nx=poly-sinc-gauss-hires-lp, I also tested sinc-MGa from RedBook to DSD512 which also works fine.

Yes…

Any really good pre-built laptops that you recommend? I’ll just leave it on and connected to Wifi if I go down that route.

Need to sleep on this. 2am here.
The latest macstudio just came out today in stores so I’m not sure this is the same one he mentioned. It has the M2 Ultra chip (2 x fused M2 Max) which are brand new.
The only other use for the macstudio (besides HQ player) would be for an aging 6yr old mbp replacement for basic stuff.

If you can give it a try and return to Apple (14 days? you would need to check) why not trial it

You might be one of the first in HQP land to try.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus with top of the line CPU and Nvidia GPU models.

I imagine @musicjunkie917 's M2 Ultra failed with something other than the default filters?

Indeed but you pay a premium.

Just as simple is to take a parts list to local PC shop and get quote to build.

Will nearly always get cheaper than these big name pre-built

Don’t need fancy case and fancy liquid cooling and famous name brand on the case

I don’t know, but the modulators I stated do work for me (although I don’t have Ultra), that doesn’t depend on the filter choice.

Or maybe he tried to do it over WiFi, which is not going to work at least with M1 series (buggy hardware).
