I thought cast supported 24-bit 96Khz? Is this because the file is ALAC? Supprised that Roon did not convert to FLAC. @support please see screen shot. Does it look right?

Hi @Afullmark,

Yes, that looks correct, Cast protocol is limited to 48/24 unless you are using a Chromecast Audio. Please see this thread for a more detailed explanation:

Roon via Chromecast (second generation) appears limited to max 24 bit 48 kHz. This is true with the HDMI handshake directly to the TV or to a high end AV processor. A Chromecast hardware or Roon implementation limitation? Roon guys will have to confirm. [35] AJ
