So, I’m skipping all the detail in my setup, but do let me know if that’s relevant.
Just now I put on one of my daily mixes, this one is called Lana del Rey. Felt like a nice relaxing choice for a relaxing evening.
And then I was surprised by The saw is family by Bone Gnawer…
I do like a bit of metal, but this seems wildly out of place in this playlist? Particularly because it looks like the whole album “Feast of Flesh” is interspersed in the playlist?
Not an urgent issue, but I found it interesting, funny and odd, so I thought you might want to know…
Yep, seems something is up. I had a Blondie Mix that out of the 25 songs on the list nearly half (12) were from 3 albums not by Blondie. And, why is the Beatles Abbey Road taking up 20% of a Blondie Playlist
B-52s 5 tracks (4 from first album)
Bowie 4 tracks (3 from lets dance)
Beatles 7 tracks (5 from Abbey Road)
Whilst the music choices for this Frank Sinatra list are more in keeping not sure 4 tracks in a row from A Kind of Blue work. Another part of Roon breaks. What is going at all with this app of late.
Yeah, I noticed something similar. Didn’t take that screenshot, but there was also a section with 3 or 4 songs of the same Bone Gnawer album in a row. In that Lana Del Rey playlist…
If I’m not the only one seeing this weird behaviour then Roon really should look in to this.
I played a complete “electronic / dance’” remix album. After that Radio started with a complete unknown terrible Dutch track/artist with absolutely no relation to the played album.
Same here.
Crazy choices in daily mix.
Classic in a Rock artist mix. Some mixes are completly filled with one artist, aso. @Support when can we expect a solution?
Yeah, Roon, this is getting crazy and needs attention.
So ok, I do have an eclectic tase in music. But seriously, bloody Bloodhunter (punt intended) again? In a Patti Smith playlist?
And “Dark Elite”??? My Roon playlist generator has established a weird fetish for all sorts of metal, some of which I enjoy, but NOT IN A PATTY SMITH PLAYLIST!
Thanks for writing in and bringing this to our attention. We are investigating things further and will follow up with more information as soon as possible.
And there are a few obscure artist, I never heard about and completely unrelated to the mix seed, that shows up in at least one mix per day. Like “Mario Abbate”. I saw the same song from him in the last few days in different mixes.
Well, the story gets funnier everytime. This time Diana Krall is taking over from Melody Gardot.
Today I got a new Norah Jones daily mix (25 albums as usual )
Norah Jones ; 5 out of 25 songs - ( 4 albums which is fine)
Melody Gardot : 16 songs out of 25 ( 7 albums )
I share some of these same oddities - I just had Bloodhunter in a Katie Melua mix, as well as the Corazones Estrangulados you mention. There’s definitely weirdness afoot in the playlists of late.
You haven’t heard Bone Gnawer yet? You’re missing out!
A few days ago I had another playlist “Annie Lennox” with 6 or 8 Bone Gnawer songs in a row… (Neglected to take a screenshot… Sorry.) So yeah, definitely an issue. Sounds like Roon is looking in to it, hope they can fix it soon!
Roon Daily Mixes are totally f’ed up now. I don’t want to hear Bone Gnawer. What garbage. The other side of the coin, I get a lot of the same music over and over in almost every Roon Daily Mix, regardless of the title. I have almost totally reverted to playing just albums.
EDIT: I’ve been with Roon for over 4 years. Until now, Daily Mixes and Roon Radio have always worked well for me. Now, they have become a mess. A lot seems to be since the integration with KKBOX. I don’t want foreign language music and I don’t want metal. My metal days are behind me. I like the Eagles, but not multiple tracks in every Daily Mix and every other Roon Radio selection, over and over again.
Is anyone at Roon responsible for these functions?
EDIT2: Just to emphasize, Roon Daily Mixes are really messed up. Mine are full of foreign language music and scattered with horrible metal. This just started within the past week or two, I think.
EDIT3: Daily Mixes are now unusable for me. They are peppered with unlistenable garbage tracks.
