Intermittent Music Stops and Disappearance of Roon Ready Devices from App (ref#AWFQLY)

Hi @Justin_McMurdo,

My apologies if I’ve glazed over this, but are you able to confirm all your Roon devices and Roon Server running on the new Mac instance are all on the same local IP? From your account diagnostics, I see a few potential subnets active within your network. This would explain devices having connection issues.

How is your new Mac setup connected to your router?

Does the same issue occur no matter the file format via Tidal?

Hi Ben, thanks for the response. I’m not sure how to mitigate this issue. I did realize the core app was still running on my synology server even though it was deauthorized. Could that be the issue? The Mac is connected via a 10g hardwire to the router. Yes the issue seems to be happening with all tidal files types.

Hey @Justin_McMurdo,

Likely not, but it’d be good to disable other Roon Server instances while we troubleshoot.

See if you can access your router settings or router webUI page, and check to see if all your Roon remote devices have the same IP scheme - there should be a ‘device list’ you can review. Better yet, if you aren’t actually using multiple subnets, I’d disable any that are inactive. :+1:

Hey Ben I can’t seem to find any additional subnets on my side. Everything in in one router with 3 nodes. Subnet is the same.
I a, am hoping I can move the core back to my synology now. The constant 2gb of ram used by Roon on my computer is affecting my work.

Hi @Justin_McMurdo,

Yes, thats definitely understandable at this point!

Overall, it does sound like similar issues are occurring when the Mac was the temporary server.

My apologies if this has been glazed over, but which devices are connected to a node, while others directly to your router? Do you notice any patterns in the m10, powernode, vault and wiim devices versus the sonos devices?

Are the devices using one of the XD5 nodes using the 5ghz wifi band?

Once you have your Nas back running as your Server, if you could, set up a similar hardwired setup as you mentioned in your OP, and share a fresh track name the next time you experience this issue - we’ll take a fresh look at your Roon Server diagnostics from the Nas.
