Please, if you listen to RP. donate. They do a fraction of what PBS or NPR does in begging time. I’ve got friends who are pop, rock, world music, and jazz musicians who say Radio Paradise pays them at a higher rate than they could get away with, based on their checks with the different licensing agencies. RP could get away paying less, but they don’t.
My dentist and GP were streaming generalized Spotify or Apple Music in their offices. I suggested they listen to RP, and if they liked it, put them on the sound system and set them up for a quarterly contribution. Both now play RP, because the mix of genres is like their patients, and both set up quarterly recurring contributions. When I go in for a doctor appointment I have to listen to stories about all the patients who heard stuff they liked (many who are over age 65).
RP now has a mellow mix channel (I now listen to that instead of rainforest sounds for sleep).
