iOS - Locked screen not showing playback controls/album art

I don’t see any playback controls or the Album art when playing music on my iPhone - iOS 26. A little annoying to have to unlock - open Roon - wait for a few seconds, just to control playback.

I’m still on my trial (40 days left to make a decision  ), so not sure if this has always been like this (I hope not).

But if anyone can help would be appreciated.

Settings > Setup > Enable Lock Screen Controls (Beta)

(It’s been beta forever, no idea why, but works for me)

Nice one - thanks.

Yeah I can see why they say BEWARE:

  • Say your previous phone volume level was at 60%
  • You’re playing from Roon with volume at 15%
  • You click volume up on your phone control, it increases FROM 60%, rather than from what was set in Roon 15%

Not really ideal - won’t switch it on.

Oh OK. My streamer & preamp has a separate volume control, so I never encountered this caveat.

It can occur if you happen to want to watch something on your iphone or ipad while listening to Roon, and you adjust the volume for that, and it winds up adjusting the Roon volume instead. Alarming.

I’ve tried to write this before, but @connor did such a good job recently, it bears just linking to that:

Yeah I’m glad I use preamp volume and Roon volume is fixed
