· I have been running 2 roon subscriptions: A lifetime and a yearly. My yearly has expired and seems to be the one that is linked to my roon server (Sonicorbiter). When I am trying to open roon on my Mac IOS based devices, I get the info that my subscription ha expired. If I click on "visit acounts pages", it redirects me to the web based page where I am recognized with my lifetime acount. But still can't connect to my sonicorbiter.
Thank you for reaching out. A few questions should help direct us to the quickest solution here.
Just to confirm: both of your Roon licenses were tied to the same email address, is that correct?
Do you have a Backup of your Roon database from the SonicOrbiter?
The easiest solution if the answer is “yes” to both would be to reinstall the server itself. These steps will be specific to SonicOrbiter and require you to access RoonServer via the SonicOrbirter web UI.
Generally, you’ll need to delete the RoonServer database itself, then reinstall it, and login with the new account. This will associate the uniqueID of this server with your active license.
Since your Roon Server on the SonicOrbiter is still signed in under your yearly account, which has expired, that’s the sign-in that matters. Your remotes connect to the Server, see it has no active membership, and report “expired.” When you click “visit accounts page,” the web browser just shows the account saved in that session (your lifetime one), so those are two separate accounts and the Server is still tied to the expired one. Signing into the website doesn’t change what the Server itself is signed into.
To get you playing again, we need to sign the Roon Server out of the expired account and back in with your lifetime account:
Open Roon on your Mac. On the "membership expired" screen, look for a Logout / Sign out option and sign out.
If it just loops with no logout option, restart the Roon Server from the SonicOrbiter web interface (
http://mysonicorbiter.com
→ your unit → Apps → RoonServer → Restart), then reopen Roon, you should land on the sign-in screen.
Sign in with your lifetime account credentials.
If you're prompted that another Server is already using the account, choose to use this Server / unauthorize the old one.
One thing to keep in mind: your library, edits, and settings live in the Server database that was created under the yearly account. Signing the Server into your lifetime account will get you running, but it changes the account association. If you'd like to keep your library history and your lifetime membership under a single clean account, we can loop in our @accounts team to see if we can merge the two accounts for you, just let us know and we'll get that started.
Unfortunately, this did not work. I am attaching some screenshots. Maybe worth mentioning that I used different email addresses with my accounts, I don’t have access to the email mark.Specht@moderated anymore that was liked to my yearly subscription.
I think it would be great if you could just merge the 2 accounts!
Thanks and best
Mark
If I click on socicorbiter after I’ve restarted the server:
If I click on visits accounts page:
I then Sign in with my lifetime account credentials:
But still not possible to connect to the sonic orbiter.
Guys, I fired my 2nd mac based Roon core up to unsubscribe from my lifetime account on this one so I could use it with my sonicorbiter at our main location. It runs Mac OS 10.x, when Roon asked me to update it did so but is now no longer working since it states Mac OS 15.x is required. This means I can’t backup anymore for good?
