Issue with Airport Express not streaming via Roon (ref#JKK493)

Describe the issue

I use Airport Express as streaming devices only (i.e. not as a network WIFI device). All worked fine until this current release. My other Airplay devices work fine.

Other software like Spotify and Qobus stream fine. It is just Roon with an issue.

I tried compatibility mode in the audio device settings. No success there.

iMac Mini (Late 2012)
macOS 10.15.7
Ubiquity Network switches
Ethernet connections between iMac and Airport Express (not over WIFI)
Flat network

Please advise.

What the screenshot shows is that Roon indicates that it is streaming but the progress stays at zero. Even if I slide to a later time it is still frozen.

Thanks for taking the time to write in, and I’m sorry to hear about your airplay playback issues!

Based on a recent diagnostic report from your Roon Server, we’d like to see how things function with a more simplified network setup. If you could, please set up a direct ethernet connection from your Roon Server directly to your router, and if possible from your Airport Express directly to your router, and let me know if the same issues persist.
