It’s great now tidal is now 10.99 in most countries. Currently HI RES streams are not coming through as HI RES. Is this an issue with Tidal? Qobuz HI RES are coming through as HI RES. Does anything need to be adjusted in settings?
Have you adjusted your Roon Tidal setting to Max?
Do you have a Max setting, apparently some aren’t seeing it.
This topic has come up in several threads today, apparently because Tidal seems to have unified the account tiers today. Maybe Roon must adjust something?
I wasn’t aware of this setting but have just checked & it was already set to high.

New TIDAL subscription is not on ROON yet
Tidal has changed its subscription model today (041024). Previously, I had a HiFi subscription (44khz/16bit). Now, I want to hear HiRes music from Tidal and it is always the HiFi standard music that is played through Roon (even if the music is shown as HiRes such as 96khz/24bit). I have modified directly on my Tidal account so I can have access to it on all my devices, but I want it also on Roon (as I love Roon ;-).
How can I have access to the Tidal HiRes music on Roon?
Best Regards

Very probably.
@michael ?
The new setting is MAX. Seems a lot of users don’t have access to the settings.
@moderators could you weave these tidal threads please.
There’s a few of these threads, we as other uses, think Roon need to switch something on.
yeah should’ve mentioned that my bad. posted this through the form so didnt know it was going to be a forum post. First time so again my bad. Thanks for the message anyways!
Maybe just roon who are slow iguess. Looking for a solution i read that Tidal on roon isn’t a mirror of the Tidal app so maybe it needs time to verify all subscriptions or upgrade. Weird anyway.
Apologies. Should have been a bit more friendly
I think as @Suedkiez says Roon need to switch something on in their infrastructure.
Could be that they have but that it takes time to replicate throughout the layers and countries.
It is possible to stream MAX tracks do it will come long, hopefully shortly.
I checked the setting for Qobuz & there is a high res setting option. Strange that there’s not one for tidal. Maybe it because of MQA not needing a higher setting. Hopefully we’ll all get it soon.
Please see this thread.
Need some clever techy workaround here until Roon get their act together so right up your street . Come on put it in the back of the net @Suedkiez!
Its a mess as i just subbed to again to Tidal to test out the new system. Cant get above 44.1 seeing two versions of same album from Vampire weekend both at 96/24 all play at 44.1, volume levelling works on one version and is set at 0db on the other. Not sure whats going on there.
Same problem for me. Max setting doesnt show up in roon settings so cant get high res
Roon need to set something in their infrastructure. If you look at the forum you will see there are a few users in the same situation.
Does seem to be linked to your previous Tidal subscription. I’m coming from Tidal HiFi Plus and max setting is default here. And hi-res in Roon works. Just like it does with Qobuz.
Yeah Roon hasn’t updated to support Max on non HiFi Plus plans. I let Tidal lapse for a few days and just reactivated on the new price and just have high.
If it was A mirror anyways, you wouldn’t be able to see MQA sample rates probably and only see that it is in MQA in the first place.
